Career thought leaders will reveal where resume and career coaching industries
are heading as they evolve, expand and diversify
BALTIMORE, MD—At a time when the work world is shifting more rapidly than ever, the Career Thought Leaders Consortium will bring together both experienced and new career professionals at the 2010 Career Thought Leaders Conference & Symposium for a comprehensive overview of emerging job trends, pioneering industry research and master-level practices employed by industry innovators worldwide. The Conference will be held in Baltimore, Maryland, from March 22-24, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor.
Each day of the conference will provide perspective on one of three disciplines most critical to a career professional’s performance: the art of resume writing, strategies for career and job search coaching and entrepreneurial success.
“My challenge to myself when planning this conference was to ‘shake things up,’ which is why this conference is structured unlike any other in our industry,” says Wendy Enelow, Executive Director of the Career Thought Leaders Consortium. “We’ve developed a format that lets attendees build their own conference agenda. They can attend one, two or three days to capture the information that’s of most interest and value to them. Plus, each day closes with two hours of colleague-to-colleague discussion sessions that encourage attendees to share ideas and network with one another.”
The lineup of speakers features many of the career industry’s most reputable figures. On the first day, Enelow, conference co-director Louise Kursmark and Jan Melnik will discuss which resume and cover letter trends are emerging and getting results in today’s turbulent economy. They’ll also reveal how to maintain brand integrity in all forms of career communication—from LinkedIn profiles and cover letters to business cards and thank-you notes. On the second day, Enelow, Kursmark, Chandlee Bryan and Cindy Kraft will share strategies for business development, building and maintaining client relationships, sales, marketing and much more. On the third day, renowned career coach Susan Britton Whitcomb, along with her colleague, Beverly Harvey, will reveal their best career coaching and job search coaching practices.
In addition to valuable insight from these thought leaders and innovators, attendees may be awarded continuing education units based on the number of conference hours they attend. They may also have the opportunity to speak with several reporters and bloggers who will also be in attendance, including a reporter from The Washington Post who will be video blogging while at the conference.
“The job market is constantly evolving, making it essential for all career professionals to invest in their professional development and learn new techniques to improve their competencies and stay at the forefront of our industry. Their success and the success of the job seekers, clients and students they assist depends on it,” says Enelow.
Early-bird registration ends January 31, 2010. For more information about the 2010 Career Thought Leaders Conference & Symposium, visit http://www.careerthoughtleaders.com/conference/.
