Daniel, Great post. Dangers of "google dropping" abound, particularly when tired. I especially like your header, though I fear too many of today's college students haven't seen American Pie (a must-see in my book)...I'm…

Absolutely, agree with you, Daniel. At least once a week I get a phone call or email asking for Jennifer Miller-Merrell. My name is Jessica. Most candidates don't even realize the error even when I correct them. However, it's the small…

This One Time.... at Resume Camp....

A tip to resume writers and job hunters.....If you're going to embellish your resume.... check your facts!!!!I was reviewing resumes a few weeks ago for an open position on our team. As you can imagine, we received literally HUNDREDS of resumes, most of which were nowhere near qualified, or even relevant to the open, posted position. I've had to adopt the process of scanning the "qualifications" section for key-words and stacking the interesting ones in a pile for further review. I found a…See More

About Me:
We aren’t a big automated shop that grinds out 1000s of resumes a day. We are a group of professional writers who are focused on one thing, helping you to get that first interview.

We keep our costs low. We don’t use a lot of fancy software to copy and paste what you tell us into a slick template. We talk to you and more importantly we listen! We look for ways to clearly communicate the value that you add to your organization. We specialize in bringing out the details and framing them in a way that makes potential employers take notice.

Our writers are experienced. We don’t hire anyone right out of college to write resumes. Each of our writers are not only great communicators, but have experience working in the real world. We’ve been there. We know what employers are looking for.

We are flexible and focus on getting it right the first time. And if it’s not right, we’ll do it again. The idea is to get your skills and experiences packaged to make recruiters and employers say “Wow.” Then it’s up to you!

Sometimes less is more....

I review a lot of resumes. A LOT of resumes. One thing that strikes me more often than not is "Less is more." Honestly by the end of page two on your resume, I've lost interest. Even the more technical recruiters and hiring managers aren't going to take the time to read a mini-volume and to be honest, if you're not shooting for your first job I don't really care about you being captain of the High School Cheer Squad. Yes, it is important to show that you are well rounded but after 15 years in… Continue

Your online persona....

Is there such a thing as too connected? I read an interesting article in the SF Chronicle the other day extolling the virtues of a more conservative online persona...

When you stop and think about it.... it's nothing to "Google" someone you meet, why wouldn't a recruiter do the same thing. You've cyber-snooped on friends; you've found High School buddies on various web sites.... The internet has… Continue

A great service to help polish that resume!

One tip that we consistently hear when reading posts and articles about job hunting, or employment in general is to keep your resume up to date. As a hiring manager, I see a LOT of horrible, hard to read resumes and I can tell you from firsthand experience that even the best worker can be overlooked when they are represented by a bad resume.
