Video Video Video Questions Questions Questions

I would love to gain your professional experiences regarding the use of video content....all responses will be very helpful and by you all being actively engaged in the employment arena, I know your experiences will be contemporary and real. Here's a few questions and all responses are truly appreciated:

If you're a recruiter, how many video resumes have you received in the last 3 months?

If you're a candidate, do you think a video resume would work for you? How and why?

If you're a recruiter, do you think a video introduction or video resume would help support your candidates in the job search process with your clients? How would a tool like that work for you personally?

Do you have any opinions about video job descriptions...are they attractive if you're a candidate or if you're a corporation, how could they work for you.

Okay, I know it's market research of sorts...just need some "man on the street" opinions...thanks in advance and have a great day!

I think video resumes only work if they are done well, with a lot of thought. Also they need to really be tailored to the companies you are sending it to, otherwise it may be too general.

Thanks Chris. What would you specifically think about including a professionally produced video introduction when you send your resume to a corporation. Something short, 1-2 minutes and is intended only as an introduction and differentiating bit of information on you...especially good I think for college students with similar backgrounds or even for more work mature individuals to show their complete viability and energy...those kinds of uses?

Vicki, I haven't received a video resume before. Frankly, I see resistance to this re: EEO considerations that HR can run into (same reason people are discouraged from putting personal information or pictures on US resumes.) If legal considerations are ameliorated, I do see good potential with this in the future. It may be to soon for US markets, but that's not atypical.
