How not to contact me on Linkedin
I received the following Linkedin request today.
Unfortunately this is NOT the way to use LinkedIn to network. Perhaps this person should have listened to my recent podcast with Laura Labovich.
Anyway I hid the persons name to prevent embarassment, I suppose I could have left it, but hey I'm a nice guy. He actually sent me a more detailed email explaining who he was and what he wanted but the damage was done.
Jobseekers, please educate yourselves on how to use Linkedin.

I certainly understand that this is not the way to use Linkedin, but have a heart. As someone who has been searching for 11 months, I can certain attest that people are getting desperate. And many of us who have been steadily employed for 20-30 years before this "mess" are having to learn an all new skill...job seeking. Be patient, and thanks for Secrets of the Job Hunt. It is helping some of us!
