If you haven't seen or heard about tent cities, it is worth watching. This is
Lisa Ling's report for Oprah.
I couldn't stop thinking about what led these people to chose to live in tents. Surely there are other options.
Instead of looking back, instead of blaming or accusing, instead of asking why or how, the question has to be "What is the solution?" (Thank you Charlie and Deidre for leading me there).
What can be done to help 1,200 people who are jobless and living in tents in Sacramento, CA? What about the thousands of others in similar situations around the country?
Are there enough jobs to go around? Has America made it too difficult to secure employment?
I don't know the solution. I will continue to ponder this.
I hope you watch this video and remember that it is easier to place blame than to come up with solutions. Choose the path less traveled, develop solutions!
