Who's Hiring at the "Best Companies" - (Vol VI)

It does seem somewhat confusing. On one hand, you pick up the newspaper and read that XYZ Corp is laying off 5,000 workers yet on the other hand you read here that XYZ Corp has a number of job openings on their company careers site. Which is right? Both. It is not unusual for a company to be letting people go while hiring in other areas. They could be reducing staff at a division, location or product line that is not doing well, while increasing or filling open positions in more profitable divisions / products. The point is, you need to check all potential opportunities regardless of what you may read about down staffing. With that out of the way, let's continue our search for who's hiring at the best companies.

PCL Construction Enterprises - PCL is a general contractor and added more than 860 jobs last year. Based in Denver Colorado, PCL is ranked 28 on this year's list (up from 77) and also on several "top" lists from Canada. Their career site has a company overview as well as links to a wide range of resources - Career Path Descriptions, Foreign Recruitment and more. You can search all opportunities or search by location (a list of locations has hot links). Doing a basic search returned 217 job opportunities. You can register your profile, upload your resume and save defined searches.
Quicken Loans - Quicken was number 2 last year and has dropped to number 29. They have 2,890 employees in the US and saw their job growth shrink by 41% last year. Even with that, they had 90 job openings in mid-January (much to my point). Their careers page has a company overview, information on benefits, College Recruiting and more. They have additional decision points for your search - Experienced Hire, Recent College Grad and Service or Retail. You can add a profile and submit a resume.
Bingham McCutchen - Bingham is a law firm and is ranked 30 on this year's list (up from 41 last year). Based in Boston, they have four separate career site pages: Law Students, Judicial Clerks, Lateral Associates and Staff Attorneys. They had 12 job openings as of mid-January.
CarMax - CarMax is a used car retailer and was ranked 31 this year (up from 46). Their career site has a wide range of opportunities. In addition to company information, the site has Retail Jobs, Home Office, Auto Finance, College Recruiting and much more. They even have a link to "Preparing for your interview". You will need to review each of the categories on the career site to see opportunities, there is no "general search" function.
